Soul-Viewing!

Maka Albarn, in Canon, can see a persons soul. She can tell their personality, and their 'Soul Wavelength'. But since having Maka do this to just anyone in [info]rivelata would be... pretty much godmoding and might stomp on some fun, I've decided to set up a post of permissions so I know who's soul Maka can see.

For example, when Stein see's Maka's soul(through the same ability) he claims that she is 'A serious person who tries hard.' That's something along the lines of what Maka would be able to tell from seeing a persons soul.

So if Maka is allowed to see your characters soul and see something like this, please comment here with this form:

Any questions you can go ahead and ask. : o

CHARACTER
NAME: Maka Albarn
FANDOM: Soul Eater
TIMELINE PERIOD: Episode 25; When Soul and Maka fall and land with a huge crash.
BACKGROUND:

Maka Albarn is what people would call a Meister. They wield their partners; living weapons. In Maka's case, her weapon is a scythe -- named Soul Eater Evans. Maka is sometimes assumed to be a lot like her mother; serious, more brain than brawn. Like her mother, her weapon is a scythe, except in Maka's mother's case, her partner was also her husband. Maka's father, Spirit, is the Shinigami's DeathScythe, thanks to his partner and wife. However, now, the partnership appears to be broken and the couple are separated in a divorce presumably because Maka's Papa flirts around.

Maka attends Shibusen; the Shinigami Weapon Meister Vocational School; located in Death City. The head of the school is none other than the God of Death himself; Shinigami. The school is a training grounds for weapons and their meisters as they journey to make the weapons Death Scythes.

Throughout the series, it seems like Maka really dislikes her father and the way he gushes over her. However, there are more than enough hints that Maka actually does love her Papa, despite the fact that for as long as she can remember, he's always flirted with other women. And she's always quick to point this out.

Maka and Soul begin their partnership by starting on a journey to collect 99 corrupted human souls, also called an egg of a kishin, and one witches soul(however, if they do not get a witches soul and acquire another instead, they must start all over once more). Their 99th soul is that of Jack the Ripper -- and Soul consumes the soul gladly before he and Maka report to the Shinigami of their process. He then tells them to go for the 100th soul -- a witches soul. So they set off to find a witch named Blair, and spend three days trying to defeat her. In the end, however, they succeed when Soul tricks Maka into thinking he will leave her for Blair and join her side. This stirs up a lot of unpleasant emotions in Maka, because, after all, that is what her Papa did to her mother all the time -- went off with other women. But it is thankful to this trick that they defeat Blair, and Soul devours her soul.

But nothing happens.

Blair, it turns out, was nothing more than a magical cat.

Maka and Soul both return to the school, frustrated and angry that they have to start all over again back at square one with 0 souls.

It's partially because of this that Maka and Black Star -- another Shibusen student and Meister -- are called to see the Shinigami, where he informs them that because of their lack of collecting any souls, they must take an extra lesson. The both of them must go find Sid, a teacher who was killed and rumored to have become a zombie, and the person who turned Sid into a zombie. But they are bombarded by the ex-teacher wielding his own gravestone in the cemetery. This is where Maka and Soul perform their first Soul Resonance -- however, it's unsuccessful. They are successful in summoning up the Witch Hunt -- a powerful attack thats only possible when the soul of the meister and of the weapon are in perfect sync -- but are unable to control it, and thus accidently wind up attacking Black Star. By the end of the battle, they discover that the man who turned Sid into a zombie was Spirit's first partner before he was with Maka's mother; Dr. Franken Stein. So with Stein in tow, Black Star, Tsubaki(his weapon), Maka and Soul head off to Dr.Stein's.

But it appears that he's just an idiot; tripping over his swivel chair at the door and twisting the giant bolt in his head as he rambles on about being able to see their souls. He even tells Maka that her soul is "Serious and hard-working." Almost right away, a fight breaks out. And even though Stein doesn't possess a weapon, he still manages to nearly kill Black Star and even throw off a perfect Witch Hunt and fling Maka and Soul backwards. In the end, the entire thing turned out to be a set up by the Shinigami. However, it's during this fight that Maka gains the ability to see other peoples souls.

The next day, Maka discovers Stein is the new teacher for the class; replacing Sid.

It isn't long after that is Maka and Soul sent off to Italy to dispose of another Corrupted human soul. But once the mission is successful, Maka claims to sense something strong from a nearby church; a whole bunch of souls. But when they get there, all that's left is just one. But Maka knows no one has left the church... She forces herself inside, telling herself that even though she doesn't want to know, she needs to find out, as a student of Shibusen. What she finds, though, is just an androgynous Meister who's weapon appears to actually be a part of their body. Maka is useless against this enemy; she cannot cut Chrona, because their blood can turn solid. She can't even block their attacks, and in the end, when Soul urges Maka to keep up the fight, Soul ends up severely wounded. It's a mere seconds, then, before Stein and Maka's father burst in -- Spirit as his Death Scythe form, and Stein as his meister. Even they have trouble against Chrona, and the fight is only them finished when Chrona is taken away by a witch observing the scene. So everyone returns back to Shibusen to treat their wounds.

Back at the school, Maka is told that Soul is going to be fine. But Stein then confides in Spirit that Soul actually has something called black blood in him; the blood of the demonic weapon they forced, and that he's not sure what impact that will have. It's also revealed that the witch who took Chrona away is also working undercover in the school as a nurse.

Time passes as Soul recovers, and Maka is stuck in an incredible grief over what happened to Soul; the poor girl feels so guilty that she can't look at his scar without having to leave the room, or producing a very awkward silence. Once Soul is healed, Maka, upon seeing Black star receive a special sort of training, insists that she and soul get special training as well, but Stein declares that she needs something first, and that she needs to figure out what that is.

It's only when Maka senses a witches soul in Death City and takes off to find the witch does she realize just what she and Soul need. When Soul and Stein catch up with her, Maka presses her hand to Soul's scar and just stands there like that, overcoming most of her grief and distress over letting him become so wounded in the first place.

This special training, however, only results in Maka and Soul sitting across from each other and insulting one another; which hampers their next mission with the strong tension that has resulted from it. She and Soul go to London with Tsubaki and Black star, only to run into an immortal named Free, who appears to have the ability to turn into a werewolf-like creature. Because of the previous fight, and tension, Maka can hardly use Soul as a weapon due to their souls wavelengths being so far off. His handle burns her hand, but she attacks him anyways while managing to reconnect her souls wavelength with her Partner. Maka pushes him back into the river, and Soul and Black Star prevent her from falling back in with him. When Maka, Soul, Black Star and Tsubaki go to leave, Maka coughs and when she looks back at her hand, there is a patch of black blood on her white glove.

When Maka returns to the school, she spends a good deal of her time studying -- and it pays off well. The young Meister passes her exam at the top of her class.

A little while later, the school's anniversary of it's creation arrives and to celebrate, they hold a party. However, Medusa, the witch undercover at the school, uses this as a chance to attack so she can go forth with her plan. Using Free's God Eye, they lock the entire student/teacher population in the room of the party; a high tower. However, Sid counter-acts this ability and sends Stein, Maka, Black Star, Death the Kid, Tsubaki, Soul and Liz and Patti down to the underground of the school, where they are to get in Medusa's way to stop her plan.

As the Shinigami explains; the origin of the Kishin is below the school -- locked away with the Shinigami's own soul. It's a man who devoured many, many human souls and strayed from the path of a true Meister and weapon. He became so powerful, the Shinigami had to lock him away under the school. It was Medusa's plan to let him free.

The plan in the underground was for Stein and Deathscythe to battle Medusa, while Maka, Kid and Black Star take their weapons and get past the witch to proceed; and then Black Star is to face off against Chrona, while Maka and Kid race forward to stop Free and Eruka(another witch) from awakening the Kishin, Asura. However, the plan ends up messing up due to the fact that Maka wants to fight Chrona by herself, so she sends Black Star on.

Maka is weak against Chrona; she still can't land a single blow to actually injure the other. As time goes on, an Imp in Souls mind tries to persuade Soul to give into the black blood for more strength, and even invites Maka in to let her have her say. In the end, Maka agrees to it, so they can have more power, and entrusts Soul with the job of bringing her back from Insanity.

The Black Blood takes control of Maka; and right away, she sends Chrona flying. She's stronger than the other; even frightening Chrona with her insane grins and antics. None of Chrona's attacks work on her because of the Black Blood; Maka has the upper hand. The true, Sane Maka is in a bizarre area and finds Chrona's soul. She ends up in a desert, as a child, with a child version of Chrona. She rescues the other, and once she's done that, calls for Soul to pull her back. Once she's fully sane again and within her own body, Maka discards Soul against a wall. She's figured out that Chrona is all alone; and never had any sort of physical contact. So Maka presses onwards as Chrona freaks out. She takes a few injuries from the black blood, before hugging Chrona and asking them to be her friend.

When Chrona offers to hold others off, Maka and Soul press onwards to catch up with Black Star and Death The Kid; only, by the time she arrives there, Asura is already revived and taken up a human form. Not to mention that he has made a hole in the ceiling, and is currently taking off via said hole. Maka is quick to grab an article of hanging clothing of his without even hesitating, and follows him to the surface of the city and up into the sky.

That's when Maka lets go and plummets to the ground. Soul takes on his human form to pull her close and be the cushion to her fall. When they land, Maka is unconscious.
